Answers to your questions

Frequently asked questions
about UPA, pricing and machines.

The protected unit, the disability contribution, employee pricing, installation and hygiene.

How much does a cup cost?

In public locations a 200 ml cup costs RON 15. At workplaces, employees pay RON 1, 2 or 3 per cup, depending on the option chosen by the company. The company pays a fixed monthly service fee of RON 2,800 to 8,900 excl. VAT, depending on the option and the monthly cup allowance (400, 500, 700 or 1,000).

What is an authorised protected unit (UPA)?

It is a company or unit authorised by the Romanian state under Law 448/2006, where at least half of the employees are persons with disabilities. Companies that owe the disability contribution can settle part of it by buying products or services from a UPA.

Is OrangeFresh an authorised protected unit?

Yes. OrangeFresh is the brand of G.P.S. Universal SRL (VAT ID RO15098765), authorised by ANPD as a protected unit (authorisation no. 271 of 08.04.2024). Most of our colleagues are persons with disabilities.

What is the disability contribution and who pays it?

Romanian employers with at least 50 employees must employ persons with disabilities for at least 4% of their staff. Otherwise they pay the state budget 50% of the gross national minimum wage per unfilled position each month (Article 78, Law 448/2006).

Are UPA invoices deductible from the disability contribution?

Technically it is not a tax deduction. The law allows up to 50% of the monthly amount to be settled through purchases from a UPA under a partnership, instead of being paid to the state budget (Article 78(3)(b), Law 448/2006).

How much of the contribution can be settled through a UPA?

Up to 50%. At least half of the monthly amount goes to the state budget; the rest can be covered by purchases from authorised protected units. Example: a company with 100 employees and none with disabilities has 4 unfilled positions and owes the equivalent of two minimum wages per month; up to one minimum wage per month can be settled through a UPA.

Which services do you invoice as a protected unit?

Support services related to fruit juice manufacturing (cleaning, sanitising and washing the juice machines), carried out entirely by our employees with disabilities, within our authorised activity (manufacture of fruit juices). Law 153/2025, in force since 20 October 2025, requires UPA services to be produced by the unit’s own employees with disabilities, and our services meet this condition.

What does the company pay for and what does it get?

The company pays a fixed monthly fee for support services related to fruit juice manufacturing (cleaning, sanitising and washing the machine), carried out entirely by our employees with disabilities. For this fee it gets the services, the machine on free loan and a monthly maximum number of fresh juices (400, 500, 700 or 1,000), which employees take at RON 1, 2 or 3 per cup, depending on the chosen option.

What if employees take fewer cups than the package allows?

The fee stays the same, because you pay for the services, not the cups. The number of cups is a monthly maximum: consumption can be lower but not higher, and unused cups do not carry over.

And if employees want more cups?

No more cups are dispensed at the package price that month. If demand is consistently higher, we sign an addendum and you move to a larger package, for example from 500 to 700.

Do we have to buy the machine?

No. The machine is provided on free loan for the duration of the contract. Oranges, replenishment and care are included.

Can I request a machine for my company?

Yes, for premises in Bucharest. Email office@orangefresh.ro or call +40 749 500 400 with the address and approximate number of employees. We check the space and access, then send you an offer. For other towns, ask us.

I saw an OrangeFresh machine at another company. How can I get one?

Call +40 749 500 400 or email office@orangefresh.ro. Tell us where you saw it and where you would like one; we will explain the protected unit option and the employee price.

Is the juice squeezed on demand?

Yes. The machine cuts and squeezes oranges on demand, in about 50 seconds, and the juice does not touch the peel. You can watch through the transparent window.

Which oranges do you use?

Juice oranges imported from Greece. We keep them in our ANSVSA-certified cold store at Bd. Timisoara nr. 52, Sector 6, Bucharest, where they are sorted and washed in professional washers. Inside the machine they are kept below 10 °C.

Who handles replenishment and hygiene?

The OrangeFresh team handles replenishment, cleaning, sanitation and maintenance. The host company does not clean or maintain the machine.

How much space does the machine need?

Under 1 square metre: about 190 x 96 x 87 cm (height x width x depth), plus about 1 m of clear space in front. It needs a standard 220 V socket. We confirm the model and requirements before installation.

How do I pay at the machine?

Cash and bank card, depending on the machine configuration. At workplaces, the reduced employee price is set by contract.

My company has fewer than 50 employees. Can I have a machine?

Yes. Companies that do not owe the disability contribution can still offer juice as an employee benefit with the same service package; it simply does not offset the contribution.

How can I see the authorisation?

Protected unit authorisation no. 271 of 08.04.2024, issued by ANPD, valid until 08.04.2027. A copy is available on request. G.P.S. Universal SRL can also be checked in the register of authorised protected units published by ANPD.

How do I report an issue?

Email suportclienti@orangefresh.ro or call +40 743 011 133. Include the machine location, date, approximate time and what happened. Do not send full bank card details.
